Contributions Exceed Wunderlich $100,000 Matching Fund by 13%!
To help The City Choir of Washington get off to a strong start, Elaine and Marvin Wunderlich generously agreed to match every contribution to The City Choir—up to a total of $100,000—received before December 1, 2007. By that date, the Choir had raised more than $113,000, creating a stable financial base for its first season and beyond.
Marv Wunderlich is one of The City Choir’s stalwart 2nd basses and a long-time performer and supporter of choral music. Before his retirement, he was a professor of mathematics at Northern Illinois University. He worked for many years as a mathematician and computer scientist at a number of Federal agencies.
Elaine Wunderlich, Alto II, has sung for two decades in symphonic choruses both in England and Washington, D.C., and on six foreign tours. Elaine worked for the Federal government traveling extensively in Europe and the Pacific as a training evaluator. Before retiring in 1998, she collected data on adapting work environments to technology for the 21st century.
Marv and Elaine are world travelers of astounding energy who have visited not only many parts of the United States, but also Asia, Africa, Europe, and most recently, the Galapagos Islands. They share a spirit of adventure, fine voices, and generous hearts. The City Choir of Washington is grateful for every one of those qualities.
