Financing the 2007-2008 Season and Beyond—

A Great Start
By December 31, 2007, halfway through our inaugural season, members of The City Choir of Washington, families, and friends, as well as other patrons and supporters raised more than $225,000 to present our first three concerts and to support chorus operations.

Remarkably, 84%—or $189,500—came from singers in The City Choir of Washington, demonstrating the personal and financial commitment of these individuals to create a viable arts organization.

This includes the $100,000 matching fund, created by singers Marv and Elaine Wunderlich. By December 1, 2007, the matching fund deadline, singers and supporters had more than met the match.

What Next
In coming months, we will broaden our audience and donor base, apply for foundation and corporate grants, and share our passion for great choral music with those who love it as much as we do as well as with those who have yet to experience its excitement and beauty.
